NHH opens film studio
NHH has established a film studio for use in teaching and knowledge dissemination. The studio will be officially opened in connection with Pedagogical hour 21 November.

The use of video for teaching and knowledge dissemination online is increasing steadily.
NHH has technical infrastructure for filming in several auditoriums, and videos from a number of lectures are available at tv.nhh.no (you must be logged on to NHH's network to get access).
Nonetheless, it has proven necessary to have facilities where it is possible to make other types of productions. As part of a major commitment to digitalisation and educational technology, a studio has been built in "Servicebygget".
A wide spectre of productions
In addition to cameras and a small light rig and editing equipment, the studio has different educational aids, from Smart Boards and a document camera, to an old fashioned chalkboard.
The aim is to be able to produce everything from short videos for use in connection with lectures, to larger productions, for instance for online courses.
Both NHH Executive and the Office of Communications have already used the studio for different kinds of productions.
Low threshold
On the technical side, NHH has established a co-operation with the Student Association's TV group. K7Minutter, but NHH's staff will be used as well.
The aim is that the technical threshold will be low, so that NHH faculty can record short, simple videos on their own, or with only a minimum of help.
Faculty who wishes to try the studio can contact Frank Mortensen in the Management Secretariat.
You can watch a video presentation of the studio at the bottom of this page.
Anniversary gift from NHH candidates
The studio is partly financed by funds that NHH received as a gift from NHH candidates in connection with the ambitious action programme NHH 2021, which was established during the school's 75th anniversary in 2011.
The programme was initiated by a group of top executives from Norwegian business life, and the aim is that NHH will be among Europe's best business schools in 2021.
"The association Foreningen for NHH 2021 were given the responsibility for the funds that were collected. They have now decided that the funds shall be used to support NHH's efforts in educational technology, and a studio is especially mentioned," says Rector Frøystein Gjesdal.
Official opening during Pedagogical hour
Friday 21 November from 10 am to 11.30 am, NHH's Pedagogical Committee hosts Pedagogical hour in the studio.
Deputy Rector Sunniva Whittaker will open the studio officially and two NHH faculty members will talk about their experiences with video as a teaching tool .
