The total number of applicants to the master programme at NHH increased this year by 13 per cent compared to last year, and the proportion of female applicants was 38 per cent.

- The biggest increase comes from our own bachelor students, but we have also an increase of 9 per cent from external applicants, says Iver Bragelien who is dean of the Master programme at NHH.

Continued growth in quantity and quality
- A total of 1055 applications have been received for the master programmes starting in August. Of these, 496 Norwegian speaking applicants come from external candidates and 274 applications have been received from foreign applicants. Nearly 90 per cent of NHH bachelor students have decided to continue their studies at the school by applying for one of the master programmes. In addition we estimate that around 150 applicants will seek admission the spring semester, giving a total of over 1200 applicants for the master studies in the coming study year, continues Bragelien.

- Last year the matriculation of external applicants increased with approximately 20 per cent for both the Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration (MØA) and Master of Science in Accounting and Auditing (MRR) programmes, and it looks like we will see an increase this year as well, says Bragelien.

This year the target number of externally recruited students for the Norwegian-language MØA programme has been increased from 125 to 140 new students, reflecting the volume of highly qualified applicants.

The quality and quantity of international applicants also continues to strengthen, and this year NHH has increased the target for the MSc in International Business programme from 30 to 40 new students for the first time since the programme was founded in 1986.

It also looks like that NHH will increase the proportion of female students across the master programmes. The proportion of female applicants was 38 per cent, with the highest proportion coming from external applicants.
