Associate Professor in Economics

The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration, Department of Economics, invites applications for the position of Associate Professor in Economics.

The Department offers a stimulating research environment, where the main research areas in economics are Environmental Economics, Experimental Economics, Industrial Organization, International Economics, Labour Economics, Macroeconomics, and Public Economics. The Department of Economics is actively involved in teaching and student supervision in the school's degree programmes at all levels - bachelor, master and PhD. The appointee may be required to teach and supervise students in all programmes in which the department is involved.

Emphasis will be placed on the applicant's research profile and ability to contribute to the research environment. It is expected that applicants have an international record of publications, including publications in first-rate journals. A Norwegian doctorate degree or its equivalent is required. Applicants may be required to meet for an interview and to give a job seminar. The appointee may also be required to complete a pedagogical course of short duration.

The application should contain details of the applicant's academic and pedagogical qualifications and work experience. Applicants for the position of Associate Professor may enclose a maximum of ten research papers. A complete list of the papers must be submitted together with any other written work which may be significant for the evaluation of the applicant's qualifications.

Salary will be negotiable according to the State Salary Scale for the position as Associate Professor (code 1011). NHH offers favourable membership in the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund, generous research funds for travelling and conference participation, and bonus systems for publication in international refereed journals.
