NHH's external relations

Earlier this spring NHH launched a project which seeks to assess the need for a more cohesive approach to how NHH manages its external relations.

The project has the following three main aims:

1. To define the term 'external relations', specific to the NHH situation;

2. To assess the need for a partnership programme at NHH, and (if deemed useful), to suggest possible models;

3. To suggest an organisational solution that fits the chosen administrative framework for handling NHH's external relations.

According to NHH's Strategy 2014-2017, Corporate Relations and Partnerships is one of the four main strategic fields on which NHH is to focus. According to the Strategy, NHH is to focus on "more and broader agreements that include education, research and dissemination."

Based on these strategic aims and the feedback from corporate partners, the new project seeks to assess the need for a more cohesive approach to how NHH manages its external relations, both administratively and organisationally.

In addition, the project will assess the need for a Customer Relations Management (CRM) system, and whether such a device may enable NHH to more easily track its efforts in building relations with external entities. This task is carried out in conjunction with the NHH Executive Strategy Project, which was approved by the NHH Board last week.

- We will as far as possible seek to align the work conducted in the External Relations project with current related projects at NHH. Steps will also be taken to involve greater parts of NHH, to acquire valuable input as part of the process. This will take place in the coming autumn, when the project reaches the stage of having constructed concrete suggestions for an administrative and organisational solution to the handling of external relations at NHH, says Stella Gjerstad who is the Project Manager.

Project owner and initiator is Administrative Director Nina Skage. Associate consultant at KPMG Anders Bjørneby, an alumnus from NHH, is working pro bono in a supporting role.

The recommendations of the External Relations project will be discussed by the NHH Board before the end of the year.
