Aksel Mjøs 50 years

Associate Professor at the Department of Finance, Aksel Mjøs, was 50 years 25 March.

Mjøs holds a Master of Science from NHH and received his PhD in financial economics at NHH in 2007. In addition, he holds a Master of Science from London Business School and is an Authorized Financial Analyst. Before becoming a faculty member, Aksel Mjøs pursued a career in the financial services industry as CEO of DnB Asset Management, Vice President in Morgan Stanley Investment Banking (London), as well as Company Secretary of Vital Insurance.

Aksel's research focuses on corporate debt and financial institutions, including the relation between banks and the borrowing companies as well as financing of start-up firms. He is FIN's coordinator for Finans|Bergen; a partnership between NHH and the business community in Bergen. He teaches in the AFA-program for NHH Executive, and is also Chairman of the Board of the Kavli Trust.

Aksel is a highly valued and well-liked colleague. He is engaged in the community, has high working capacity, and juggles many different tasks simultaneously. With experience from both the business sector and academia, he is a popular speaker and asset, both at, and outside of, NHH. And-not least-he always has time for a friendly smile and a chat.
