Your brain is a big fan of fairness! New video from The Choice Lab

In a new video from The Choice Lab, researchers Alexander Cappelen and Bertil Tungodden discuss results from their recent neuroeconomic study, where they find that the brain's reward system instinctively reacts to unfairness.

Furthermore, they find that an equal income distribution is not perceived as fair when contributions are unequal. The results are reported in their paper "Equity theory and fair inequality: A neuroeconomic study", which is joint with The Choice Lab researcher Erik Ø. Sørensen and Tom Eichele, Kenneth Hugdahl and Karsten Specht from the University of Bergen. The paper was recently published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America (PNAS).
