Every year in August NHH greet new students with formal matriculation ceremonies.
All new students are wished welcome with a handshake from the Rector or the Deputy Rector. In addition several of the ceremonies include speeches, music and more.
Since 2011 NHH has organised separate ceremonies for bachelor and master students in Economics and Business Administration.
This year's ceremony for new bachelor students takes place in NHH's Aula Monday 13 August from 10 am.
NHH's bachelor program in economics and business administration has been Norway's most sought after for six years in a row. This year approximately 5000 people applied. Only 450 are admitted. 48 percent of the applicants who have been offered admittance are women, a pronounced increase from previous years.
The approx. 250 new master's students in economics and business administration will be matriculate at 2 pm in the Aula. This ceremony will be held in English.
Main speaker at both the mentioned events is Mayor of Bergen, Trude Drevland.
Later in the week there are two other ceremonies.

On Friday 17 August, more than 220 foreign exchange students will be wished welcome to NHH. The event takes place in the Staff Cafeteria in Servicebygget.
