Doppelhofer and Sørensen promoted
The Department of Economics can welcome two new Professors to its ranks, as Gernot Doppelhofer and Erik Ø. Sørensen were promoted Wednesday. In Norwegian

The promotions were confirmed yesterday, and immediately after the new Professors were greeted with flowers at the Rector's office. Both were delighted with their new academic titles.
"It feels really good. You work hard and finally you reach Professor-level", Doppelhofer says.
"I can't make fun of the senior Professors anymore. That will be hard", Sørensen jokingly adds.
Doppelhofer, who was born in 1968 in Austria, got his PhD from Columbia University in 2000, and then went on to work as an Assistant Professor at The University of Cambridge. He was appointed Associate Professor at NHH in 2007. Doppelhofer's research areas include macroeconomics, economic growth and applied econometrics. He is also project manager in the field of macro in NHH's KOV research program.
Sørensen (born in 1974) got his PhD at NHH in 2006, and then worked as Assistant Professor at The University of Mannheim, before continuing his research at The University of Amsterdam. He returned to NHH as Associate Professor in 2009. Sørensen's research areas include labor economics, experimental economics, social preferences and international income measurement. Sørensen is affiliated with The Choice Lab, a research group at NHH.
