Open House, Saturday 10 September

NHH will hold Open House on Saturday 10 September, the final day of Anniversary Week. The school invites staff and students to bring along their families, neighbours, friends and acquaintances to NHH to show them the school and present some of its activities and research.

The anniversary week will be packed with various activities celebrating NHH's 75th anniversary. One of the many highlights will be the conclusion of the week, when everyone in Bergen and anyone else who wants to come is invited to take part in the celebrations.

Bring your friends and come along

Open House will feature several lectures by some of the best researchers at NHH, as well as good old-fashioned student entertainment from the Student Association.

'Everyone attached to the school must take the opportunity to bring along friends, their mother-in-law and neighbours to show them our great school,' says Asle Haukaas, chair of the organising committee for Open House.

Lots of activities

Several parallel lectures will be held in the auditoriums throughout the day. Each of them will last for 20 minutes and deal with subjects that are interesting and topical and that require no business education or background.

Among other things, Associate Professor Karl Rolf Pedersen will talk about the use of road tolls, Dean Kenneth Fjell will talk about social media such as Facebook, and Professor Gunnar Salvanes will give a lecture on school elections.

Other activities worth mentioning include a meeting with the authors of the anniversary books for NHH and NHHS (the Student Association) in the library and a debate in the Dag Coward auditorium with the title 'Fra børs og finansmarkeder til vekst og arbeidsplasser: Om Europa i krise og eventyrlandet Norge'. The debate, which will be between Thore Johnsen and Øystein Thøgersen, professors of finance and macroeconomics, will be chaired by Sjur Holsen, political editor of the daily newspaper Bergens Tidende.
