NHH's award for humanitarian and social work was established in 2000, and is given under matriculation to a student or a group of students as a recognition for their work in the humanitarian, social or cultural area. The prize is not awarded every year. The last time was in 2008.
"It's a recognition to get this award for the effort we have put down during the last ten years, and especially to receive this year when we have managed to collect 10 million NOK, says leader for NHH Aid, Sondre Økland.
NHH Aid was established as a subcommittee of the Student Association in 2003, but its history dates back to the 70th century. NHH students began in the early 70's to arrange an auction with show to education for children in poor countries. This was later extended with a fundraising campaign, which eventually became an annual tradition.
The award for social work is 10 000 NOK and a picture by the artist Audun Hetland.
