19.08.2014 - Ed.

Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research (Scancor) at Stanford has been an important resource for Norwegian and Scandinavian organization researchers since 1989.

The centre was established as a result of a collaboration between Jim March and Johan P. Olsen. Professor Walter Powell, one of the world's leading organization researchers, led the centre from 1999. In July 2010 Mitchell Stevens became Professor Powell's successor as director. Sarah A. Soule is currently visiting director while Stevens is on leave.

Scancor offers opportunities for longer and shorter visiting stays and have a limited number of office spaces available for visiting researchers.

The centre is a unique resource that should be used frequently by Norwegian researchers. In addition to opportunities for permanent office space, the visiting researchers are expected to participate actively in the permanent research seminars at the centre.

Guest researchers also have opportunities to take advantage of the many seminars and lectures that are offered, and to establish contact with leading organizational and political scientists at Stanford.

Applications from doctoral students and established researchers are welcomed.
