Debate between street artist and professors

The street art project on the school's walls will be completed this week. The project will be concluded during Anniversary Week, when a whole day will be devoted to street art, culminating in a panel debate.

'It's about matching anti-authoritarian artists against the elite they often criticise,' says Eirik Sjåholm Knudsen, creative head and curator of the project. In his opinion, the contrasts between a business school and street art are precisely what make the project so exciting.

Street Art Day

During the anniversary week, a whole day has been set aside for the project entitled '…….Capitalism'. And just what words should precede capitalism will be the topic of discussion for professors and artists, among others.

'The whole project culminates in a panel debate on the term capitalism. There are many nuances that have to be taken into consideration, and I believe it will be a different and interesting debate,' says Mr Sjåholm Knudsen.

The debate will be chaired by Tom Remlov, General Director of the Norwegian Opera and Ballet. He has extensive experience of the cultural scene, as both an actor and film producer.
'We will also discuss how business schools, both in general and NHH in particular, are perceived by others. I believe the artists can provide a lot of great insight, they kind of represent "the man on the street",' says the creative manager.

Professors Bertil Tungodden and Guttorm Schjeldrup from NHH, Johan Aasen from Skagen Funds, street artist Evan Roth, author Tristan Manco and composer Henrik Hellstenius will be taking part in the debate.

M-City

The last walls are to be painted this week, and Polish artist M-City started on the final phase of his work on Monday morning. Working with spray cans in both hands, it was the art that was in focus, not his health.

'Don't you wear a mask?'

'No I don't like wearing a mask when I'm working.'

'Doesn't that make it a bit dangerous?'

'Yes, it's pretty dangerous I guess,' says the artist, who has travelled the world for several years decorating walls with his art. A locomotive and goods wagons are being spray-painted on the walls outside the main hall.

He is the first of a total of four artists who will be working on the school's walls this week.

'I think being allowed to paint on the walls of a business school is fun,' the artist concludes.
