Continued two-part leadership
Last Thursday, the NHH board of directors agreed to maintain the main model from the Norwegian University Law for its management structure, the two-part leadership of NHH. The board simultaneously presented clear and binding requirements for the decision.

Two-part leadership means that the rector is NHH's primary leader and a managing director acts as administrative leader, this is how it is today. In other words, the board will not switch to single leadership at this point in time. This would lead to the rector being appointed as leader for both academic and administrative affairs and the selection of an external board leader.
A long and thorough debate amongst the board was characterized by a strong willingness to grab a hold of the critical remarks which have come forward throughout the process of this issue. The board aims for an early grip in order to better the internal resolution processes, improve and increase visibility of NHH change capabilities, and further future responsibilities and work distribution between the rector and the managing director. These issues will be examined closer in the next board meeting.
The board further stresses that both internal and external candidates are eligible to become rector under the accepted model. Also, the board assumes that the next crossroad of the governing model will be assessed by future NHH boards.
Division model accepted
With some reformulations, the board accepted the model for the future division of academic resources between academic departments. In connection with the college computing its long term budget, it wants a budget model for long term balancing between needs and resources as well as forecasts from the academic departments for the division of resources between academic areas. The selection that addresses these issues suggests a model based on division with a starting point in credit production, but with strategic assessment of selection criteria with the possibility of correction and filling out.
