NHHs 75 year history to be written
Edward Prescott og Finn E. Kydland. 2004 ble et viktig år i NHHs historie.
NHH was established in 1936 and in 2011 will celebrate it's 75th anniversary. A written history of the school is being prepared to commemorate this event.

This historical work will cover the period beginning with NHH's initial planning phase and the political resolutions which led to the establishment of a business school in Bergen forward to present day.
Main focus on the last 25 years
"NHH wrote a similar historical work on its 50th anniversary in 1986, and therefore it is only natural that the planned book emphasizes developments over the last 25 years", says Bjørn L. Basberg, who is the leader in the management group for the project.
Professors Olav Harald Jensen and Arnljot Strømme Svendsen wrote the anniversary book for the 50th year anniversary.

"A lot has happened regarding the development of the school after this, and it is only natural that a new book is written to mark NHH's 75th anniversary in 2011", tells Basberg.
The book will have a length of around 400 pages and be richly illustrated, with a planned edition of 3000 copies. An additional smaller supplement in English will also be created.
From a socioeconomic perspective In addition to describing all of NHH's internal activities and developments, such as teaching, research, student activities, administration and leadership, social activities and the school's distinctive stamp, it is hoped that the history of the school will be placed within a broader picture.
"By this we mean the development of the economy, industry, and society generally and how NHH has become formed by and has played a part in development. It is also very important that this historical work presents and discusses the developments within research and education in a broad sense, nationally and internationally, and what NHH's role and place were."
Project to take three years NHH has recently announced the open positions for authors for the anniversary book. The school seeks to employ first one and then eventually two authors with experience from similar types of work, preferably historians with a doctorate degree or corresponding experience. The roles will comprise three years of work.
"It is also hoped that the author will have his/her own working place at NHH during the project period. A management team has been appointed for the project, and NHH will also be of assistance when it comes to editing", informs Basberg.
