Postdoctoral positions

The Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration invites applications for postdoctoral positions.

The positions are for three years and involve 33 % teaching /administrative duties within the department. The positions will allow opportunity for qualifying beyond doctorate level. The main aim of the appointment of the Post-Doctorate positions is to qualify professionally for high level academic positions.

The positions may be within any area of economics and administration at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration. The following departments are of current interest:

Department of Finance and Management Science
Department of Accounting, Auditing and Law
Department of Economics
Department of Strategy and Management

A doctorate degree in Economics and Business Administration is required for appointment. Applicants should preferably have completed their doctorate degree within the last two years and definitely within the last four years.

Applicants are requested to present their project proposal, including a research plan, with their application. It is assumed that the applicant will be able to complete the project within the period of appointment. Emphasis will be placed on the applicants' professional profiles and their opportunity to contribute to the joint professional environment of the department in question. Appointment will be made in accordance with the current recruitment situation. For the time being recruitment to the fields of Accounting, Auditing and Law, and Management Accounting is the most difficult. Applicants with doctorates in adjacent fields may apply for postdoctoral positions within these fields.

In accordance with a personnel policy aim that the composition of the staff should reflect the make-up of the general population of the country, both with respect to gender and cultural diversity, women and people from ethnic minority backgrounds are particularly invited to apply.

In the event of equivalent qualifications, female applicants will be given preference.

Please note that persons employed in permanent teaching and research positions at the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration and persons who have previously had a postdoctoral position will not be considered.

Salary will be according to the State Salary Scale 50-70, code 1352 (currently NOK 343,600 - NOK 494,600 corresponding to 41,640 Euro - 59,940 Euro). The salary will be decided in agreement with the School's salary guidelines. From the salary a 2 % deduction will be made as pension contribution to the Norwegian Public Service Pension Fund.

The application should include a research plan for the position including intentions for research residence at foreign teaching establishments during the course of the appointment period. Information concerning professional and teaching education and work experience must be included as well as a list of all publications, testimonials, certificates, and any other documentation which may be useful in the evaluation of the application.
