NHH's Advisory Board is gathered at NHH today (Wednesday 10 September). The main topic for presentations and discussion is NHH's strategy for the coming years.

The members of the Advisory Board come from Norwegian and international business and international academia. NHH is represented by the Rector, the Managing Director and two students.

The aim is that the group will assist NHH in reaching its ambitious goals by providing international perspectives in the fields of research, education and knowledge dissemination, as well as giving strategic advice.

And strategy is the core of the current meeting, which is the second session since the Advisory Board was put together in 2013.

Representatives from NHH's leadership, faculty and staff will present the school's plans in various strategic areas, and receive feedback from the Advisory Board through the following discussions.

Background

The idea of establishing an advisory board comes from the Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research, and the aim is to strengthen ties between the business world and academia.

The institutions were given fairly free reins in formulating a mandate and finding members for their advisory boards.

The NHH board chose to model the advisory board on similar councils at business schools abroad, and has found ten members from the higher echelons of both international academia and the Norwegian and international business world. The Advisory Board is appointed for four years, and will meet once or twice a year.
