In connection with Professor Frøystein Gjesdal's 60th birthday in 2010, NHH established an annual lecture in Professor Gjesdal's name to mark his long contribution to accounting research.

This year's guest lecturer is Professor Rajiv D. Banker, who is Merves Chair of Accounting and Information Technology at Fox School of Business at Temple University in Philadelphia.

Professor Banker is internationally recognized as a leader in interdisciplinary research in management, and he has published more than 150 articles in leading journals on topics ranging from information technology to different accounting issues.

Dr. Banker received a B. Sc. with honours from The University of Bombay in 1973, and became Doctor of Business Administration at Harvard University in 1980.

He has held positions at Carnegie Mellon University, University of Minnesota, University of Texas at Dallas and University of California, Riverside.

The title of Professor Banker's lecture is "Implications of Cost Behavior Research for Financial Accounting Research."
