Bhargava took part in the MIB Forum this week. This was the fourth time that the students from the MSc in International Business have arranged the International Business conference. This year the topic was "India: Outsourcing and beyond".
Two of the speakers were invited from India to speak at the MIB Forum: Shekar Banerjee, Vice President in the industrial conglomerate Tata Teleservices in India and Anuj Bhargava from the financial institution HSBC India.
The Indian speakers pointed out that the political climate in India will be more and more favorable for investment and this could lead to India taking the lead role in the world's economy along with China.
"Right now China is in first place in regards to population. In ten years we will be there", thinks Anuj Bhargava from HSBC India.
Around 70 participants received a varied programme with focus on market potential, cultural differences, and partnership with Indian companies. Bhalbir Singh from SNF held a presentation on the investment climate in India, and he placed special emphasis on the fact that India needs large investment in infrastructure to attract more investment in the future.
